About Us

The Massachusetts Child Care Resource & Referral Network promotes high quality, affordable child care for families by providing statewide coordination and support of community child care resource and referral (CCR&R) programs. The MACCRR Network is a voluntary membership organization of community-based child care resource and referral programs.

The Network’s Purpose:To endeavor to strengthen each community child care resource and referral agency;

  • To advocate for families and children by educating the government, corporations, parents and the general public of child care issues, the need for additional resources and quality programming to enhance the lives of children;
  • To advocate for the rights of parents to choose their child care and to receive the consumer education they need to select high quality care for their children;
  • To facilitate collection, analysis and coordination of comprehensive data about child care needs and services in Massachusetts;
  • To foster public-private partnerships to enable the diversification of funding to support the mission and functions of the Network and the individual CCR&R programs;
  • To develop statewide strategies with all constituents of the child care industry such as parent; early care and education professionals; local, state and federal governments; and community organizations.

  The Massachusetts Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) Network is a statewide collaboration of agencies funded through the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) that provides child care services to families and providers in every city and town in Massachusetts.  These services include:

  • Access to child care voucher subsidies allowing parents to maintain jobs and training, including at-risk families
  • Fiscal accountability and monitoring of eligibility for assistance of over $450M annually to meet state and federal guidelines through the Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG)
  • Resource & referral and consumer education to families seeking child care, including families with disabilities and at risk families
  • Offer families written materials in over 10 different languages
  • Employ on-site staff who speak over 10 different languages
  • Enhanced consumer education regarding Early Education and Care Programs/Services, and the Strengthening Families Approach
